As teachers we are always looking for easier ways to do something in our classroom. I have searched the internet to find the top 10 teacher hacks that you may not have already found. I am telling you some of these are pure GENIUS!
1.Bingo Dauber Glue Sponges
Kelly from First Grade Fairy Tales makes these Bingo Dauber Glue Sponges for projects in her classroom. She ordered the Bingo Daubers from Amazon and filled them up half-way with glue. Gets rid of those messy glue bottles and cheap too!
2. Desktop Anchor Chart
Meghan from Keeping Up with Mrs. Harris built a desktop Anchor Chart to travel with her as she is in and out of different classrooms. Would love to have this in my room! Again this project is super cheap and easy to make. She gives a full tutorial on her blog.
3. Labeled Binder Clips
Catherine from The Brown Bag Teacher is probably the most organized teacher I know. There are seriously tons of ideas her organization post. I love how she organizes her magazines by month with labeled binder clips. Binder clips are probably my number one go to hack for my classroom. I hang things with them, use them as bookmarks, and NOW I am going to file with them.
4. Perfect Bulletin Boards
There is nothing more annoying than bulletin boards that are not even. It frustrates me to have to pull pieces off a bulletin board because it is not even. Emily from Education to the Core shares her tip for making sure you get your bulletin boards right on the first try.
5. Book Boxes for Teacher Materials
I have so many different books that I pull from each day. I do not have a “teacher desk” in my classroom. These book bins hold all of my teacher books and they make it easy to grab when I need it. On Fridays I stock them with our weekly activities and it makes it easy to grab and go. Want to see my full classroom? You can check it out here.
6. Sheet Protector Center Storage
One thing I cannot stand is having centers with a ton of pieces that get lost. I love how Stacy from Teacher’s Take-out uses sheet protectors to organize her centers. I think it would be great to use to file your centers and label the white band with the center name. You can use it to organize your unit files and place all of your unit pieces in the sheet protector.
7. Cubby Makeover with Construction Paper
These cubbies are simply adorable from Simply Kinder.
I love the bright fresh look that the construction paper adds to this classroom decor hack.
8. Task Card Organization
I love organization in the classroom and things that make it easy for you to grab and go in the day. Cassie from Funky in Fourth has a great way to organize center task cards. She used old hanging files and plastic pencil pouches to get the job done.
9. Lap Desks for Floor Work
I love the idea of grabbing a few breakfast in bed lap desks for center work and games through out the day. They can stack up easily and your students will love it too! Check out this idea from Tina at Tina’s Teaching Treasures.
10. SitSpot Games
Many of you have probably already heard about using SitSpots to assign student seating on the carpet. I love the idea of using SitSpots for kinesthetic activities in the classroom. Use the SitSpots as a beanbag toss game for sight words and letter recognition.
